The short story “Stolen Day” by Sherwood Anderson is about a boy who tries to get out of school by saying he has a condition that you get when you are young or baby. The boys name is never said he is a young boy that doesn’t like school much so he wants to be like Walter who has inflammatory rheumatism and doesn’t go to school and instead of going to school he fishes at a little pond. In the story you will find the most extrodinary way a little boy tries to get out of school.
In the short story “Stolen day” a young boy discoves that he can get out of school by faking a condidtion that is very bad and would be caught if he was a baby. Walter the boy who has it condition were there is somehting wrong with his muscles and has bad aches in them. The little boy think that if he could get this condidtion he would be able to skip school and go fishing with the boys in stead of going to school that is when he discoves the plan to lie about it. He tells the teacher that he has bad aches and says he has to go home. When her get home his mother send him to bed which isnt fun, but it turn out later he actually thought her had the condition because his legs hurt so bad and unbearable.
Althogh his thought he had a condition that might be very bad it is still a comedy. In the beginning it was normal where he saw Walter sitting minding his own buisness fishing for fish. When the mild conflict came into play he decided to skip school or go home sick because he didn’t want to do homework or school work. When he gets home he relizes that what he did was wrong because he wanted to skip school which was wrong. There was another conflict when he went fishing with Walter he wasn’t ther be he went fishing anyways and caught a carp and brought it home. It returned to normalcy when he told his family he thought had the condition they all laughed and it returned to normal. This condition is very rare so to have it would be almost impossible and that’s why the family laughed at him because they all knew he just wanted to get out of school when he told his family they just laugh.
Besides the fact that the main character was not named he was very stuborn and like to get his way and was hirt when his family laughed at him when he thought he had the condition that Walter had. The young boy is also very sensitive because when his family laughed at him to his face he got very offended because he thought it was real but when the story eneded the little boy wasn’t really mad that he didn’t have the condition that Walter had. Walter was a boy who went fishing every day because he had a condition where his muscles didn’t work very really which was called inflammatory rheumatism which makes your muscules weak and is hard to walk. So instead of going to school he goes down to the pond and catches fish. When the two charters interact the boy sees Walter fishing before he goes to schools so he plots a plan where he si going to have the condition too so he can go fishing and skip school.
“Stolen Day” is a very interesting story about a little boy that makes an unbelivable excuse to go home from school. Even though it may be a sad story about a Walter who has a muscle disorder it still is a comedy because the way the little boy thought he actually thought he had a horrible condition when he reallt just wanted to stay home.

This is a nice summary! If I were your teacher I would give you an A+. Keep an eye on the spelling and grammar, though. :)
